Delacroix and the Rise of Modern Art, National Gallery

The National gallery does hang pictures well. Another stunning exhibition in which the canvasses sing from the well-illuminated walls.

A must see for the spring in London if you want to observe his direct influence on the next generation: Cezanne, Reniour, Van Gogh, Gauguin, Odillon Redon and the like, and if you want to see surprising paintings by artists you think you know: a pieta by Van Gogh, huge nude from Cezanne and so on.

Strange that I go to an exhibition of French painting in London, but hey, whatever.
